Volunteer recruitment information

This page is for current team managers looking to start the recruitment process for new volunteers.

Recruitment process

  1. Volunteer approaches Team Manager to express an interest in volunteering. 
  2. Team Manager undertakes informal chat using questions and role profiles from the website. The crib sheet of questions can be downloaded at Crib Sheet for volunteer interview.
  3. Once interview completed, Team Manager completes this form: New team volunteer form.
  4. Volunteer receives (“intro to volunteering”) email and fills out new volunteer form. 
  5. Once the form is completed Club Welfare Officer triggers the DBS check.
  6. Club reaches out to seek references.
  7. Club Welfare Officer checks received references.
  8. Club Welfare Officer ensures DBS and safeguarding training is completed before volunteering begins.
  9. Club Welfare Officer updates FA Club portal and informs Team Manager and volunteer.
