Dear Players, Parents, Volunteers, and Supporters of LAJFC,
I hope this message finds you all well and energised as we kick off another exciting football season!
As many of you know, I am new to the role of Chairperson, having taken over from Dan in the last three months. I want to take a moment to thank Dan and the rest of the committee for their incredible work in building the strong foundations of this club. It’s a privilege to step into this role and continue the journey they started.
The weather presented us with a weekend of two halves; however, we successfully completed many of the first round of fixtures. It has been fantastic to see players back on the pitch, giving their all and, most importantly, enjoying themselves. As Chairperson, my top priority is to ensure that every player has a positive and enjoyable football experience. After all, this is the essence of grassroots football, fun, teamwork, and personal growth.
Looking ahead, I am committed to building on the great work already undertaken by maturing the governance of our club. A key focus will be achieving 1* English FA Accreditation, which will open up opportunities for funding and free equipment to benefit our players and teams. This is an exciting step forward for the club, and I look forward to working with the committee and all of you to make it happen.
Finally, I want to express my heartfelt thanks to all the volunteers who continue to give their time, energy, and passion to this club. From coaching to facilitating matches, running events, and everything in between, your efforts are what make this club such a special place for our children. You deliver in style, and we are all incredibly grateful for everything you do.
Here’s to a fantastic season ahead, let’s make it one to remember!
Damion Weir (Hugo’s Dad)
