Code of conduct for Parents, Guardians and Supporters

  • Remain outside the field of play and behind the designated spectator area (where provided).
  • Never engage in, or tolerate offensive, insulting or abusive language or behaviour.
  • Always respect the match officials’ decisions.
  • Applaud effort and good play as well as success.

In addition, when attending youth games I will:-

  • Remember that children play for FUN.
  • Let the coaches do their job and not confuse the players by telling them what to do.
  • Encourage the players to respect the opposition and match officials.
  • Never criticise a player for making a mistake. Mistakes are part of learning.

I understand that breaches of the above Code may result in action being taken by my Club and/or County FA.

In addition, we expect spectators and parents to follow the FA Spectators and Parents Code of Conduct:

Play your part and support The FA’s Code of Respect:

  • Have fun; it’s what we’re all here for!
  • Celebrate effort and good play from both sides
  • Issued with a verbal warning or asked to leave
  • Always respect the Referee and coaches and encourage players to do the same
  • Stay behind the touchline and within the Designated Spectators’ Area (where provided)
  • When players make mistakes, offer them encouragement to try again next time
  • Never engage in, or tolerate offensive, insulting or abusive language or behaviour

I understand that if I do not follow the Code, I may be:

  • Issued with a verbal warning or asked to leave
  • Required to meet with the club committee, league or CFA Welfare Officer
  • Obliged to undertake an FA education course
  • Requested not to attend future games, be suspended or have my membership removed
  • Required to leave the club along with any dependents and/or issued a fine
