Are you passionate about football and eager to make a difference in your community? The Somerset FA Youth Council is looking for enthusiastic young people to represent their peers and help shape the future of the game.
Who can apply?
- You are aged 14-24 (as of the 1st August 2026)
- You are involved in football or actively seeking involvement in football
- You have ideas on how to improve football and ensure that young people have a positive experience of the game.
- You will be committed to attending monthly meetings in-person at Somerset FA Offices in Glastonbury for the 26/27 season (August – June, with our final event at the start of July) or any other meetings where necessary.
- Open-minded individuals with a commitment to learning, feedback and personal development.

- Be Part of a Nationally Recognised Team: We have consistently supported current and previous members to be successfully accepted onto the FA National Youth Council and secure places at the FA Leadership Academy (FALA) every season since 2020/21. Over the last six seasons, two members have been a part of the FA National Youth Council and a total of six have graduated the FA Leadership Academy (offered to only 60 young people nationally each year), with another successful application from current Somerset FA Youth Councillor, RJ, due to start later this month.
